The other night, my friend Joe had a dream involving me and Lucy and he e-mailed us a description of the contents of it the next morning at work. I sat at my desk and laughed for about five minutes straight. Later that night, Lucy called me to give me the analysis that she and Joe had come up with for it. However, there are still some things we can't explain. This is where you, dear reader, come in. Here's Joe's dream and our thoughts on it - now let us know what you think it all means:
The Dream: (Joe's description)
It opens with the three of us, (Pam, Lucy, and Joe), in a huge room with people everywhere. We are apparently attending a 'sex party' and we have multiple partners. Then it flashes to Pam's car, where Joe is in the front seat and Lucy in the back. We are driving towards Pam's house with trash in the back. We want to throw the trash away, but we don't know where. We start to pull up to Pam's neighborhood and it is all triple decker homes, and Pam lives in one of them. Across the street is a school. We
decide to throw the trash in the school dumpster that sits in front of the baseball field, so we get out with the trash and start to walk along Pam's street towards the school dumpster. A fat man pops out and asks us to a sex party. Lucy and Pam quickly accept the invitation, but Joe declines for some reason.
Then it flashes to the same spot, but at night. Lucy and Pam are meeting the fat man and for some reason Joe is going to the party just to hold their purses so they can go off and have sex. The fat man comes out and makes them draw names for partners. Lucy gets the fat man and Pam gets a really tall middle aged woman. Lucy goes off with the fat man and then the tall woman comes out to collect Pam. She is tall, about 7', with long brown hair in a ponytail. She also has dark-rimmed reading glasses on. They go off together leaving Joe in the street with their purses. He waits for a bit, but gets a little impatient so he goes into the house and looks for Lucy. Joe walks into a room and sees the fat man shirtless and Lucy collecting her clothes. Then he wakes up.
So that's the dream - here are some of the analyses that Lucy and Joe have come up with:
1) The trash in the car could represent Joe's baggage, although he doesn't really have any.
2) I live across the street from a school because I like younger men. (18+, of course).
3) I go off with a tall woman because I tend to like feminine-looking men. (What? Okay, that is kind of true in some cases. You know I love the guys in eyeliner.)
4) Joe needs to get laid.
As Lucy put it, "When you start having dreams about other people having sex while you hold their purses, you need to get some. And why am I a chubby chaser?"
We can't figure out the triple-decker houses or the trash or even the fat man and the 7-foot tall woman. Any thoughts?
