Week Ten: Rocky Point Pub
Short entry this week as we took a little vacation from the dive bars and ended up at a place that USED to be a scary, scary joint under its previous name and ownership, but now? Not so much:

It’s all revamped inside and it’s super clean. The place even has a full menu with FOUR different kinds of “skins.” (Potato, cheese, etc.) When we walked in and saw how nice it was, I turned to Frito and said, “This is WAY too nice.” He echoed my sentiments moments later when he saw a young boy there with his father (it’s a restaurant, too.) We can’t properly enjoy a bar if children are there! Granted, our waitress may have formerly been a stripper, but that was about as seedy as it got. As Paul said, we were just taking a nice one week vacation to the nice bar before we head back into the final 3 weeks of some fantastic locations.
Even though the bar itself was boring last night, we still managed to get a good crowd and have some fun.

I think we ended up with 16 people in our group, and I was most excited by the surprise appearance of first-time Bar Tuesday guest, my pal Kara:

We don’t work in the same office anymore, and I miss her lots. Lunchtime just isn’t the same without her crazy antics.
Golden Tee Count: 6 out of 10 – This place had The Tee and a few other games.
Jukebox Report: Worst so far. It’s so odd that the nicest place we’ve been to so far has had the worst jukebox by miles. The skeevy places have the awesome internet ones with the Bose speakers, but not this place. It was a CD jukebox that looked promising with 90 CDs in it, but the selection was HORRIBLE. No Journey, so we couldn’t play our theme song. It was a lot of Frampton and Meatloaf with a random dash of Billie Holliday. I’m down with the Holliday, but that’s not bar music. I only played 3 songs and ended up with one of my all-time favorite Prince tunes, Gett Off, along with Salvation by the Cranberries and Pressure by Billy Joel. All great songs, but that was the best that they had. The thing was so bad that Paul ended up playing Piano Man (WHY?!) and Frito played It’s the End of the World As We Know It, and still has no idea why. Whither the Journey?
Next week? We move the party to a bowling alley bar. Aww yeah.
I look trashed and/or asleep in the group picture. I like that.

Well, I know you were at least the first one, the second one is up for debate. :-)
